10 Kanban Board Examples – Planview AgilePlace Style

Published By Chris Hefley

Earlier today, Mattias Skarin (co-author of the highly-recommended Kanban and Scrum: Making the Most of Bothposted examples on his blog of “10 different kanban boards as used in operations, development, sales and marketing.”

We here at Planview AgilePlace we pride ourselves on being the most versatile, flexible and powerful tool available for online Kanban, so we wanted to see if we could accurately model each of Mattias’s kanban board examples effectively. (and challenge any of our competitors to try it as well).

Of course, we acknowledge that there’s more than one “right way” to implement each example, but we’ve taken a shot at each one and present them, without further ado, for your edification below.

Mattias’s examples are here.

1. A Scrum Team applying WIP Limits
2. Development Team Using a Defined Process
3. Development Team With Multiple Clients
4. MultiTier Kanban with Swim Lanes
5. System Administration
6. Operations – Business Process Management
7. First Line Support
8. Second Line Support
9. Sales Team Respond to RFP
10. Marketing Team
